Famous manga artist Hiromu Arakawa has a surprising past. She spent seven years working on her family’s farm in Hokkaido. Ishii, her editor, knew a little about farming, but Arakawa shared her experience of milking cows, harvesting crops, showing the struggle and beauty of a farmer’s life.
