Tonbo Ooi, the protagonist, lost his parents in a car accident when he was young and grew up by his grandfather, Gonji Ooi, a fisherman on Kagoshima Island in the Tokara Islands. Tonbo learned to play golf when using iron No. 3 which was passed on by his father on three golf courses on the island, which was built by residents of the island itself.
This story begins with Tonbo to meet Kazuyoshi Igarashi, a former professional golfer who came to Kagoshima to find a job.
